Xtina (sometimes, but not always spelled with two "i"s) is an auteur of the creative underworld. Classically trained in fine art since grade school, she attended MICA in Baltimore in 2001 and broke free of traditional painting in favor of multi-dimensional performance art and fashion, bringing together her skills in costume construction, choreography, sound editing and multi-media installations. Since moving to Philly in 2007, she has transferred these creative energies onto the stage once again with fire performance, bellydancing, and performance art direction with several successful variety shows including Simplafire (2009), Scorch Fire Show (2010) and The Russian Roulette Variety Show in 2011 and 2012. Currently she performs regularly with bellydancing/fire fusion troupe Lux Arati and as part of the debonair burlesque duo, The Penny Treats. Her current work consists mainly of nature and geometry-inspired paintings in both oils and acrylics, hand-crafted jewelry and costumes that she often uses for the stage and yearly printmaking projects with her husband, Alex.
